A really good interview with Amber Heard about The Rum Diary, about Chenault, and about how Amber sees the role of women in Hollywood films and productions.
She talks about the difficulty of filming the scene where she's swimming and meets Kemp for the first time, and about how much she loved filming the scene of driving down the highway with Johnny in a 1958 Corvette.

Amber Heard had faith in Depp
EN Movies - Amber Heard knew her new movie, The Rum Diary, was in “safe hands”.
The actress is currently starring alongside Johnny Depp in the adaption of Hunter S. Thompson’s novel about a journalist in Puerto Rico.
Amber read the book before starting work on the movie. However, she wasn’t worried about comparisons between them.
“It’s in many ways different [from the book] yet protects and maintains the integrity of the subject matter,” she explained in an interview with Stylist. “I think that with true artists like Johnny Depp and [director] Bruce Robinson I felt safe in knowing that the work would be protected, whether it was from the book or not. I knew I was in safe hands.”
The 25-year-old star was thrilled to land the role of Johnny’s love interest in the film.
Amber had a fantastic time filming with the star, but initially she was daunted by the prospect of working with him.
“As you can imagine, it could be seen as an intimidating process but Johnny does everything to counteract that,” she gushed. “He’s such a wonderful presence on and off set, he’s an incredible, incredible human, a wonderful artist and a great actor. He’s so easy to work with, he makes you feel right at home from day one. I was lucky.”

Something is holding up the release of The Rum Diary soundtrack. I had pre-ordered it from Amazon with an original ship date of 11/29/11. Now I've gotten an email saying that their supplier is extending that date, and Amazon now won't be able to ship until the week of Christmas.
