I see that it wasn't included on this thread, but when this rumor first started, someone on the Gold Derby movie message board pointed out that Angela Lansbury, one of the reported cast members, was committed to a stage production of Driving Miss Daisy. Well, not only does Driving Miss Daisy already seem to be planned, but this Austrailian site with the cast notes confirms that Angela is scheduled to be in the film, along with Jude Law. The site says that filming will begin in December. Thanks to Will at Gold Derby for the pickup:
I guess we'll see! Hopefully we will start getting confirmed reports about the filming soon. Incidentally, the site says that Angela will be doing Driving Miss Daisy in Feb., so at least her role will be a short-ish shoot.
Angela Lansbury Confirmed For Wes Anderson's 'Grand Budapest Hotel'
It seems what Wes Anderson wants, Wes Anderson gets. Earlier this summer, with "Moonrise Kingdom" doing solid business in theaters, the writer/director started putting the pieces together for his next film, "The Grand Budapest Hotel," eyeing Johnny Deep, Jude Law and Angela Lansbury as potential players alongside his usual roster of actors such as Bill Murray, who recently confirmed he'll be taking part. Depp and Law are both on board, and another wish is coming true for Anderson.
Bona fide legend and the always excellent Angela Lansbury has revealed she too will be featuring in the film. “I’m playing woman of mystery, it’s minuscule role. I’m on the screen probably for less than 5 minutes,” the "Murder, She Wrote" star told U.K. magazine The Gentle Woman (via The Film Stage).
Details are still under wraps about the movie, the only information at the moment being that it's a Euro-based tale (as shooting in Germany and the title would suggest), with one character being a psychic medium. But Depp + Law + Murray + Lansbury? Damn, Anderson could stop there and we'd be ready to buy a ticket. "Moonrise Kingdom" team Scott Rudin and American Paintbrush are behind this one as well. Could we see back-to-back movies from Anderson? Fingers crossed.

Not in drag unless it's so bad it's hilarious, like with a moustache or something.
Of course, not all mediums are women - what about Colin Fry? I named my hamster after him cos he looked like him (and to irritate my mother, who loves Colin Fry and insists vehemently that he does, in fact, not look like a hamster).
I agree, he looks like a very cute hamster. And exactly! So bad it's hilarious - with a mustache. I can see either Ed Wood's mustache, or Ceasar's....hmmm. Johnny just needs a gypsy skirt to go with his existing wardrobe! He might have to fasten one more button on his shirt, and he would needs some jingley bangles to go along with all of his rings. It would give him an excuse to wear nail polish again. Can't you just see it? He probably wouldn't be able to give up the bangles after the film was over.
