Cory Hardrict Joins Rebecca Hall,Kate Mara and Johnny Depp In Sci-Fi Thriller "Transcendence"
The Oscar-winning cinematographer Wally Pfister‘s directorial debut “Transcendence” is gaining an impressive cast, and joining Rebecca Hall, Kate Mara, Clifton Collins and Cillian Murphy comes another rising actor, Cory Hardrict.
Also starring Johnny Depp, Morgan Freeman and Paul Bettany, Blackfilm.com confirm that the rising actor will play a character called Joel. Although the film has not released an official tagline, we know that Hall will play a scientist named Evelyn who, along with her husband Will (Depp) and friens Max (Bettany), has created a programming code for a self-aware computer. After Will is assassinated by anti-technology terrorists, Evelyn uploads Will’s brain onto the supercomputer, connecting him to the internet and then to every computer in the world.
A bit part TV actor for several years, Hardrict starred in sci-fi actioner “Battle Los Angeles” and earlier this year was seen alongside Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer in “Warm Bodies“, the zombie romcom that was a surprise hit earlier. He will next be seen in “Lovelace” with Amanda Seyfried.
“Transcendence” is set to begin production in May and already has a release date set for April 25th 2014.
