(Admin feel free to move this thread I just had no idea where to put it.) Anyways I remember reading some where that Johnny had a favorite movie I can't remember what it was called but I know it was supposed to be a funny 1940s or 1950 movie. Idk I was hoping maybe someone here might know what movie it is. Cuz I'm trying to find and watch it.
Hi Emma, this is a fine place to discuss Johnny's favorite movies!!
Withnail and I is definitely one of Johnny's favorites-- he's talked about it many times. And I think it was one of the reasons he wanted the director Bruce Robinson to direct The Rum Diary However, this movie is from the late 80's, not the 40's or 50's. In terms of an older movie from that time frame, what comes to my mind is Wuthering Heights (one version of the film came out in 1939). I think an interviewer asked him if he was a romantic, and he replied that he'd seen Wuthering Heights 20 times or something
What other movies has Johnny discussed? We know he doesn't see many movies, especially contemporary ones (and especially ones that he's in ) but he may have mentioned others from time to time
I didn't even know that about withnail and I. that's really cool. Yeah I did get the time of the movie mixed up but I'm glad I found it. And I'm going to look into the other movie u mentioned. Also I don't know any other movies johnny likes I did hear he was a fan of charlie caplin work somewhere.
I remember Johnny said once, he also likes 'Silent Film' (or went there with Vanessa) or Theater. Otherwise, Dracula,Jack the Ripper. But i don't think he meant the Films itself, don't know. Buster Keaton and Chaplin stuff. He also said once,he likes documentations.
