Ohh i see. I thought it was something weird like that. I really wanna see this movie. So ive been trying to keep up on it. But yeah i wish they would say more about this movie. Especially if they are gonna release it soon.
I was hoping that the title change only impacted distribution of the film in Italy, where "The Professor" might attract more viewers.
I don't think the re-name would attract more viewers in the US, should we ever get a chance to see the film.
It's a whishy washy title. "Richard Says Goodbye" might at least prompt the potential viewer (ie. Why is he saying goodbye). "The Professor" is a blank. Frankly the only thing that popped in my head was Professor Doolittle.
Actually, I have often disagreed with title changes of Johnny's films. I remember hearing that Neverland was going to be changed to Finding Neverland, and all I could think of was Finding Nemo . I thought Neverland was so much better, but what did I know, and Johnny ended up getting an Oscar nomination for it . I also prefer LAbryinth to City Of Lies, but one problem with LAbyrinth would have been that some folks who remembered David Bowie's movie might have been confused. I think there have been other examples but I can't think of them offhand. But I guess I always eventually got used to the new title .
(Wasn't it rumored at one point that they would change the title of Black Mass?? Because it sounded too much like a horror movie title?? I'm so glad they kept that one!!)
Only Springsteen fans would think of this reference, but The Professor is a pet name given to Bruce's piano player, Roy Bittan "The only member of the band with a full.... high school diploma!!" (Not true, but often part of Bruce's schtick in the olden days). So some in the Springsteen community could think this will be a biopic about Roy .
