I feel like there was a fog in front of my eyes for 36 years, and the second Lily-Rose was born, that fog just lifted and everything became totally clear and focused~ Johnny Depp To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.
I mentioned this in the PE thread, but it should probably go here: KeepVid has a new feature added to their KeepIt! button. You can now save files in mp4 format, rather than just flv. This appears to be a beta feature, so it may not work with every file, but it's worked for me so far. This may save a lot of asking for conversions and download links, since all you need to do is add their little button to your browser's toolbar. Then just hit the KeepIt! button whenever you see a YouTube video you want to download. It'll give you two download links, one .flv (lo) and one .mp4 (high). Click for the mp4 version and save the file.
wittyjacky, thanks for this info, but is this KeepIt! button designed to work with IE? The Keepvid site says to drag the button at the top of the page to your links toolbar, but it won't work for me. I can put a link to the site itself in there, but that's not really any quicker than using favorites since all it does is bring up the keepvid site and I still have to enter the url of the video I want to download. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for the interview links, lakotadi. Was the MP4 version from Keepvid still too small? I have Quicktime Pro so I'm not sure what size player you get with regular QT.
The software I have for converting video files will not allow conversion to WMV on my PC (I don't have enough RAM). It's free and handles everything but WMV. You might look to see if you can find some freeware that will work for you.
